1925 – Pete and Lucille Kuyper invest in a Des Moines, Iowa based company producing the Rolscreen® retractable screen.
1926 – The company moves to Pella, Iowa where it is still based today.
1930s
1930s
1934 – Redesigned venetian blinds are granted a new patent.
1937 – Pella debuts its first window, the Deluxe Casement window with a built-in Rolscreen and numerous other features.

1943 – Amid wartime labor shortages, half of factory workers were women who were paid the same wage as men.
1950s

1951 – The Pella Wood Folding Door is released, featuring wood-laminated panels hinged by torsion springs.
1960s

1964 – Invention of the industry's first tilting double-hung window for easy cleaning.
1965 – The world's first window with blinds tucked between the glass, Pella Slimshade blinds, is invented.
1970s

1971 – The company introduces its first aluminum-clad window and door product line with pivot, casement and awning windows and clad sliding doors.
1980s
1980s
1983 – The company’s first U.S. manufacturing plant outside of Pella opens in Carroll, Iowa.
1988 – The Pella logo is born with its hallmark yellow and black color scheme shortly before the Rolscreen Company officially rebrands as Pella Corporation in 1992.
1990s

1993 – Pella products are now available at several national and regional home improvement centers, including Lowe’s.
2000s
2000s
2000 – Pella Corporation is named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” by Fortune magazine for the first time.
2000 – Pella creates the first casement window crank with a fold-away handle.
2003 – Pella’s proprietary, low-maintenance fiberglass is introduced to the market.

2011 – Pella 350 vinyl windows with industry’s first removal of raised weld at frame corners.
2015 – Insynctive technology launches, which allows homeowners to control their blinds and shades with a smartphone app.
2017 – Pella Architect Series Reserve™, our finest line of wood windows and patio doors, is now available and includes contemporary designs.
2018 – The award-winning Integrated Rolscreen in windows is launched on Pella Reserve - Traditional double-hung windows.

2020 – The revolutionary Easy-Slide Operator window hardware allows homeowners to easily slide to open a window instead of cranking.
2022 – The industry's first Hidden Screen for vinyl windows launches on Pella 250 Series.
2024 – The award-winning Pella® Steady Set™ interior installation system revolutionizes the industry.
2025 – Pella celebrates our 100th anniversary of creating high-quality windows and doors for every project.
