The homeowners of this Richmond, Virginia home wanted to address corrosion issues on their existing front door. In the process, they also hoped to change the color, style and configuration of their entry door. From bright green to sleek black, this entryway underwent a major upgrade.
Fiberglass Front Door with Sidelight Adds Natural Light
The homeowners of this historic Richmond house wanted to bring the front door style back to its roots. They changed out the solid bright green door for the classy look of a black front door with glass. Rather than choosing double doors like the existing entryway had, the homeowners decided to go with a single door with a sidelight. We also removed the existing transom window that was above the front door, creating space for a new 8-foot-tall front door. The replacement fiberglass front door with sidelight allows plenty of natural light into the entryway and creates an elegant first impression. The sidelight also adds style and character and matches the glass in the front door.
Decorative Glass Furthers Traditional Front Door Style
Replacing the old front door with an updated, traditional front door complements the historical character of the home. Decorative glass for fiberglass front doors makes an elegant statement while welcoming an abundance of natural light into the home. It also helps maintain the perfect level of privacy. With rich, classic detailing, the new front door acts as a charming focal point for the entryway. The door is ornate, yet skillfully refined to add a hint of elegance that doesn’t overwhelm. The exquisite details of decorative glass in the front door and sidelight make the entryway feel larger and create a look the homeowners love.
Fiberglass Front Door Combats Corrosion Concerns
Apart from color and style updates, the homeowners primarily wanted to replace their front door to address durability concerns. Their aging front door was rotting and corroding. This was a key issue that the homeowners wanted to avoid, especially with Virginia’s rainiest season right around the corner. We recommended a new fiberglass front door because of the durability and reliable performance it offers. The composite frame of the new door will not absorb moisture, making it rot-resistant and low maintenance. It also resists corrosion, warping and dents, ensuring it will withstand Richmond’s varying weather beautifully. The new fiberglass front door with glass perfectly balances durability and style to offer year-round performance and long-lasting beauty.
The homeowners were surprised to see what a huge improvement a new front door makes to the overall aesthetic of their home. All in all, they are thrilled with the new look of their entryway.
