Floor-to-Ceiling Windows for Modern Scottsdale Home

When Platinum Homes and PHX Architects wanted to create a home that felt part of the rugged valley landscape and was filled with ample natural light, they turned to Pella to bring the vision to life. Our team installed all the windows for this modern marvel, a new construction home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

To fill the home with natural light, clerestory windows are used throughout. Located high on the wall, above eye level, the picture windows run parallel to the modern flat roof. They maximize natural light while maintaining the privacy of the homeowners who live there. Paired with minimalist finishes including stone, wood and tile, all eyes are on the black windows and the outdoors beyond.

In both the bedrooms and the living room, the home leverages expansive Pella® Reserve™ - Contemporary black multi-slide patio doors to create seamless indoor/outdoor living. The pocketing doors help the homeowners take advantage of the cooler temperatures in the fall and spring when they can be opened wide for entertaining and relaxation. In the living room, the large doors create a foundation for picture windows above. Together, they create a light and airy space that feels larger than life.

The modern patio doors feature durable aluminum cladding on the exterior which helps protect them from the harsh Southwestern sun, rot and corrosion. With advanced wood protection applied to every exterior wood surface, the multi-slide doors with flush sills are also protected from the effects of moisture.
