The Rye House Luxury Apartments are part of a vibrant neighborhood in Port Covington. With its prime location, the apartment complex pays homage to its industrial heritage with steel-framed windows, soaring ceilings and brick facades. Bozzuto Development enlisted the help of Pella Baltimore for their commercial window and entry door needs. These clients were looking to install oversized windows and easy-to-operate entry doors, meeting the needs of their future tenants.
Fiberglass Windows Provide Superior Strength for Baltimore Apartments
This multi-family residential project required special recommendations to meet design choices and address durability concerns. Our expert team suggested using Pella Impervia fiberglass windows for their sleek finishes and unbeatable longevity, ideal for commercial use. This window line is created in-house with our proprietary fiberglass material, the strongest material for windows, engineered with lasting durability.9
One reason Bozzuto Development loved these windows was the powder-coat finish that meets AAMA 64 specifications. This smooth and durable coating resists bends, dents and breaks, perfect for day-to-day use by apartment residents. Additionally, this protective layer is applied in the factory, eliminating additional finish work on the job site. Our fiberglass products are ready to be installed, minimizing the time on site, which keeps the project's timeline on track.
Picture Windows Withstand Extreme Northeastern Weather
Our fiberglass window material can be trusted by builders and architects alike to stay strong even in the most extreme weather conditions. At Pella, we ensure our Impervia windows are tested from -40°F to 180°F, performing on both the coldest and hottest days in Baltimore. Furthermore, these picture windows use a thermoset material to help maintain their shape all year without concerns of expanding, warping or sagging.
With the aim of reducing the number of callbacks, our team proposed using picture windows for their uniform appearance and performance capabilities. The black windows are mulled together in the factory, resulting in precise and consistent assembly. These builders are pleased with this manufacturing process as it saves time on site.
Commerical Entry Doors Endure Everyday Use in Port Covington
To maximize natural light while withstanding regular use, our team recommended using full light fiberglass entry doors. With waterfront views and stunning natural light, our clients wanted to capitalize on their prime location even with full glass commercial doors. The full glass panel allows residents to experience their beloved Port Covington views every day.
Also, the fiberglass frames are resistant to potential twisting and deterioration common in other entry door materials. Our clients are delighted with the outcome of their commercial windows and entry doors. They are confident that their fiberglass selections will withstand the test of time and Baltimore weather.
