Colorado Springs, located amongst the eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains, boasts rich architectural styles, giving homes in the area unique character. From Victorian and craftsman to Spanish and Pueblo Revival, the diversity is truly remarkable. This home embraces the Pueblo Revival architectural style, featuring a stucco exterior, earthly colors and organic shapes.
After 30 years of wear and tear, the original windows needed a refresh. The homeowners were looking to replace their custom windows while preserving the distinctive arched design.
Our team was tasked with replacing their old, drafty windows, ensuring the new ones retained the original aesthetic while providing potential energy savings.
Wood Windows Meet Unique Configurations in Colorado Home
To match the neutral stucco and stone exterior and be able to get the shape they desired, we recommended brown windows from Pella’s Lifestyle Series. Upstairs, we installed a half-circle picture window and casement windows with a sunburst grille pattern to complement the natural landscape. Downstairs, we mulled together casement and picture windows with grilles-between-the-glass to maintain consistency with the original window shapes. The flexibility of wood windows and variety of grille options made them the ideal choice for this replacement project, leaving the homeowners delighted with the refreshed design.
Energy-Efficient Glass Keeps Colorado Home Comfortable Year-Round
Designed with performance in mind, Pella Lifestyle Series windows, featuring Advanced Low-E protection, help reduce energy costs and shield the home from harmful UV rays. In higher elevations, blocking intense UV rays is crucial. This glass option blocks 84% of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet light, preventing carpets and furniture from fading. Now, the homeowners can comfortably enjoy their living room space year-round without worrying about the sun’s damaging effects.
Brown Windows and Patio Door Connect Home to Colorado’s Scenic Landscapes
The organic-shaped picture windows create a beautiful transom above the four-panel sliding patio door, enhancing the natural light in the living room. Expansive glass panels in both the windows and patio doors flood the space with sunlight, blending the indoors with Colorado’s stunning natural landscapes.
The homeowners now enjoy their Pueblo Revival home, confident that their windows and patio door not only match the aesthetic but also offer potential energy savings.
