Professional Oklahoma Educators (POE) is an organization that fights for schools and education on the state and national levels. Made up of thousands of teachers and school support personnel in Oklahoma, POE serves as an alternative to teacher labor unions, providing members with liability insurance, legal advice, professional development opportunities and more. Despite its grandeur, their state office building in Norman, Oklahoma faced a persistent issue: aging aluminum frame windows that demanded frequent glass repairs. This recurring problem resulted in escalating costs for the organization. Seeking commercial replacement windows that promised durability, energy efficiency and elegance, the facility manager turned to our team at Pella of Oklahoma to get the job done right. After careful consideration, the decision was made to outfit the entire building with Pella 250 Series casement, picture and special shape windows.
Low-Maintenance Windows Offer Dependable Durability
The installation of new windows not only addresses the immediate issue of frequent glass repairs but also provides long-term benefits. These vinyl windows offer durability, ensuring that the products withstand the test of time without succumbing to the Oklahoma elements or requiring frequent maintenance. With multi-chambered frames and reinforced sashes, Pella 250 Series window frames are 52% stronger than ordinary vinyl and resist warping and twisting.8 The fade-resistant vinyl formula is performance-tested for excellent weathering, durability and color retention. This means the new windows are easy to care for and will never require painting or refinishing. They will help save the time, cost and effort associated with maintenance, benefitting the organization both now and in years to come.
Energy-Efficient Windows Help Nonprofit Save Money
Additionally, replacing the old, aluminum frame windows with new vinyl windows improves the overall performance of this building. The energy-efficient design of vinyl windows helps reduce heating and cooling costs by keeping the building cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The multi-chambered frames have up to 18 insulating air chambers, acting as pockets that help slow the transfer of heat. These windows are also available with triple-pane glass and foam insulation to further improve energy efficiency. Features like this help provide significant savings for the organization. By saving money, nonprofits like Professional Oklahoma Educators can allocate more resources toward initiatives that directly advance their mission.
Custom Circle and Arch Windows Exude Elegance
While minimal maintenance and exceptional performance were the main goals of this project, it was also essential to maintain the architectural beauty of this 24-year-old building. We supplied custom circle and arch windows to enhance the traditional elegance of this space. The new windows frame the courtyard, elevating the overall ambiance for educators and staff. The graceful, round curves preserve the building’s historic charm. In addition to special shape windows, we also installed some casement windows throughout. The ability to open certain windows allows occupants to enjoy Norman's pleasant weather, fostering a more comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
By opting for durable, energy-efficient and aesthetically pleasing windows, this project not only addresses immediate maintenance concerns but also frees up resources going forward that can be invested directly toward the organization’s mission.
