In this stunning Horse Lake home, our team at Pella Sioux City collaborated with Conelly Development and the homeowners to create a custom-crafted window and door solution that complements the home’s craftsman style. For this remodel project, we proposed using wood windows with a custom color and grille pattern to add unique character. With Pella® Reserve™ – Traditional, our fully customizable product line, this lakeside home now perfectly matches the surrounding nature with its authentic wood windows and doors.
Craftsman Style Windows Use One-a-Kind Grille Pattern in Sioux City
The homeowner’s goal was to bring warmth to the exterior with new craftsman windows. Our team worked diligently with the client to select a custom grille pattern that enhances their home’s craftsman style. The wood window grilles feature a 4x4 windowpane design on the sides and a large center pane for clear views of nature.
This unique grille pattern also features Integral Light Technology (ILT) grilles which are permanently placed on the inside and outside of the window glass. These innovative grille profiles create the look of individual windowpanes, bringing a classic and authentic design to the windows.
Custom Brown Windows Stand Out Amongst Dark Gray Siding
New wood windows were installed throughout the lakefront home, featuring a custom color, Avery Brown, and bringing warm wood tones to the exterior facade. The light-brown frames create a stark contrast against the gray siding, drawing the eye towards the new windows. These tailored craftsman windows now embrace earthy tones which complement the environment and exposed wooden beams. On the interior, the frames feature a linen white paint to match the existing wall color and neutral furnishings.
To shield against the Sioux City weather, Pella Reserve wood windows use an exterior extruded aluminum cladding, called EnduraClad®. This protective layer helps the wooden frames to resist chalking and fading throughout their lifespan. The cladding also protects the frames from moisture and UV rays, ensuring the windows stay strong through the harsh Midwestern winters.
Double-Hung and Casement Windows Enhance Ventilation in Horse Lake Home
The homeowners sought windows that would serve both functional and design purposes. In the formal dining room, double-hung windows allow the homeowners to control the fresh lakeside breezes by opening and closing the sashes. To improve ventilation, casement windows use a fold-away crank to fully open the glass panel in the kitchen dinette, also known as the informal dining area. Having good air flow in these spaces is particularly important to maintain a fresh and comfortable environment, especially during mealtimes>
This Horse Lake home now features custom windows that complement the home’s unique craftsman style. The homeowners appreciate how the new windows bring distinctive charm and lasting beauty.
