Project Details

This new construction home was carefully designed and crafted by expert architects and builders. They combined a white front exterior with a black/green facade, merging the home into the woods around it. The selected color choices alongside the windows beautifully reflect the natural area surrounding the home. Our team partnered with the builders to select large triangular windows to complement the shapes throughout. We chose Pella Lifestyle Series wood windows for their features and options, allowing them to be the star of the show in this Charlottesville home.

Triangle Gable Windows Maximize Natural Light

To immerse the new homeowners in their natural surroundings, our team suggested creating a floor-to-ceiling window wall. We mixed triangular and square windows together and placed them on both sides of the fireplace to become the focal point of the living room. The placement of the triangle windows under the pitched roof maximizes the amount of light they let in. During the daytime, an abundance of natural light flows through the living room windows, allowing the homeowners to reduce their reliance on artificial lighting.

Awning Windows Infuse Charlottesville Home with Fresh Air

The builders were looking to construct an attractive, yet energy-efficient home that would bring in fresh air and reduce the need for excessive air conditioning. Awning windows embedded within the window wall are the ideal solution. The awning windows open outwards toward the exterior of the home, allowing a crisp breeze to enter during summertime showers. The new homeowners were pleased with their living room windows which cool the home down.

Wood Windows Complement Modern Design Choices

In hopes of keeping the design memorable, our team members recommended expansive picture windows for the new construction home. This selection brightens the interior while complementing the modern aesthetics found throughout the home — clean lines, natural materials and a neutral color palette. Our team suggested wood windows to accentuate the design and finishing choices found throughout the home from wooden ceiling, floors and staircases. Our products arrived at the site with black pre-finished interior stains and aluminum-clad exteriors, ensuring they were ready to be installed without the hassles of painting on the job. The builders and homeowners alike were incredibly pleased with the result of their black windows. They perfectly frame their beloved views of nature, while being complementary to the modern design elements in the home.
