Just a few miles away from Washington, DC lies the beloved city of Falls Church. Established in the late 1600s, the city boasts a diverse array of home styles — including colonial, Victorian, craftsman and modern — that honor its rich historical roots and architectural heritage. This new construction home can be found in the center of the Woodley North neighborhood. With its prime location on one of the many tree-lined streets in Falls Church, the windows and patio doors were a very important consideration during the building process. The construction team enlisted the help from Pella of Washington, DC to recommend and install windows that would capitalize on the beautiful Virginia greenery.
Brown Windows Create Beautiful Contrast Against Neutral Paneling in Falls Church
To achieve a striking aesthetic contrast, our team proposed using brown windows to complement the home's neutral paneling, resulting in a visually appealing and harmonious design. We installed Pella Lifestyle Series wood windows and patio doors for their unique customizations. The selections included dual-colored windows, featuring chocolate brown exteriors and white interiors.
Our aluminum-clad exteriors boast a bold, brown look that resists fading and chalking, staying protected against the harsh winters experienced in the greater Washington, DC area. The white prefinished interior complements the home’s color palette, staying consistent with the light tones featured throughout the home. The ability to customize the windows and patio doors creates a cohesive design, perfect for this modern style.
A Variety of Wood Windows Enhance Energy Efficiency for Virginia Homeowners
The builders sought a variety of wood windows to achieve optimal energy efficiency. Understanding that each room has unique requirements, our team carefully selected windows that cater to the specific needs of every space. For the basement windows, we recommended casement windows for their ease of operation. Our expert installers ensured tight seals to minimize air leakage. These strong seals help retain warmth during the snowy winters and maintain a cool, comfortable environment during the humid summers.
In the alley kitchen and dining room, large double-hung windows enhance air flow throughout the main floor. The two operable sashes can be opened and closed independently, creating excellent ventilation. Since cooking can create lots of moisture and heat, having venting kitchen windows allows fresh air to enter the space. The new homeowners will be thrilled with their brown windows that add comfort and potential energy-savings for years to come.
